Temple Overview: The Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Srinivasa Mangapuram is a grand shrine located about 12 km from Tirupati. It is considered a powerful alternative to Tirumala; it is believed that if a devotee is unable to visit the Seven Hills, a visit here yields the same spiritual merit. The deity is depicted in a majestic standing posture, and the temple is specifically known for its "Kalyana" (wedding) energy, making it a primary destination for those seeking blessings for marriage and family harmony.
History & Legend: According to the Sthala Purana, after the celestial wedding of Lord Venkateswara and Goddess Padmavathi at Narayanavanam, the Lord did not immediately return to Tirumala. Instead, he visited the ashram of Sage Agastya at this location. Out of respect for the sage’s request, the Lord stayed here for six months. Because he was a newlywed ("Kalyana" state), he blessed the area with his presence. Before leaving for the hills, he declared that those who cannot climb Tirumala can find him here and receive the same blessings.

Detailed Darshanam Types & Bookings

Sarva Darshan (Free): Generally very peaceful compared to Tirumala. Wait times are typically 20–45 minutes.
Special Entrance Darshan (₹5): A nominal ticket for faster queue access, available at the counter inside the temple.
Pratyeka Darshanam (₹20): A quick-access ticket for those in a hurry, sold at the temple entrance.

Sevas & Rituals: Timings & How To Book

Daily Sevas:
Suprabhatam (05:00 AM): The morning awakening. Cost: ₹10.
Thomala Seva (06:00 AM): Floral decoration. Cost: ₹10.
Kalyanotsavam (10:30 AM): The most famous ritual here. It mimics the wedding of the Lord and is attended by couples seeking marital bliss. Cost: ₹500 (for two people).
Ekanta Seva (07:45 PM): The final sleep ritual of the day. Cost: ₹10.
Special Rituals:
Ashtadala Pada Padmaradhana (Tuesdays): Offering of lotus flowers to the Lord's feet.
How to Book: Tickets for Kalyanotsavam and other sevas can be booked online via the TTD website 60–90 days in advance. Offline "Current Booking" is also available at the temple counter starting at 08:00 AM for that day's available slots.
VIP Protocol: VIP entry is managed by the local TTD officials. Recommendation letters are usually accepted if submitted early in the morning at the temple office.

Festivals & Important Days 2026

Vaikuntha Ekadashi: January 1, 2026. (Massive crowds; special entrance through the North Gate).
Annual Brahmotsavam: February 2026. (A grand 9-day festival with vahanams including the famous Garuda Vahanam).
Rathasaptami: January 25, 2026. (The Lord rides seven different vahanams in one day).
Sakshatkara Vaibhavotsavam: June/July 2026. (Three-day festival celebrating the temple’s restoration).

Annaprasdham & Prasadham

Laddus: Fresh TTD Laddus are available at the counters near the exit.
Free Meals: TTD provides free Annaprasadham to all devotees from 11:30 AM to 03:00 PM in the hall adjacent to the temple.
Pulihora & Vada: These are sold as specialty prasadams at the counter

Dress Code & Etiquette

Men: Traditional Dhoti (Veshti) or Kurta-Pyjama. Dhoti is mandatory for those performing Kalyanotsavam.
Women: Saree or Chudidar with Dupatta.
Etiquette: Photography is strictly prohibited inside the main sanctum. The temple is very quiet and peaceful; please maintain silence.
